Be Part of What Happens Behind the Curtain
Every performance, event, class, and special experience at LSPA takes a team of people working together to make it happen. Volunteers are an important part of that team!
Whether you love theatre, enjoy working with your hands, want to support community events, or simply want to give your time to something meaningful, there are plenty of ways to get involved at LSPA.
You do not need to be a performer or have prior experience. You just need a willingness to help.
Ways to Volunteer
There is a place for almost everyone at LSPA. You can volunteer to:
- Help backstage during performances
- Assist with costumes, props, or quick changes
- Build, paint, or prepare sets
- Help with load-in, setup, and strike
- Assist with front-of-house needs during shows
- Help with concessions or guest experience
- Support LSPA Signature Series events
- Assist with event setup, decorating, and cleanup
- Help with community outreach and special projects
- Lend a hand with administrative or organizational needs
- Share a special skill or area of expertise
Some opportunities are one-time events, while others may involve several rehearsals or performances. You can choose the opportunities that best fit your schedule and interests.
Help Bring the Experience to Life
Volunteering at LSPA is a chance to see what happens behind the scenes, meet new people, support artists and students, and play a real role in creating memorable experiences for our community.
From building a set before opening night to helping transform a space for a Signature Series event, every volunteer contributes to the final experience our audiences see.
And sometimes, the most important work happens where the audience never sees it.
No Experience? No Problem.
Many volunteer opportunities do not require previous theatre or event experience. Our team will help guide you and make sure you know what you need to do.
If you do have experience in areas such as construction, sewing, lighting, sound, photography, event planning, hospitality, or other special skills, we would love to know that too.
