Stacey Hardigree is a Georgia native and lifelong lover of music. Her passion for the arts began early with the study of classical piano and deepened in high school when she discovered her calling to pursue choral music education. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Auburn University in 1991 and has since devoted more than three decades to teaching and inspiring students throughout the West Georgia region.

Stacey’s teaching career began with the unique opportunity to open Sandy Creek High School in Fayette County as its founding Choral Director. Later, she returned to her hometown of LaGrange, where she served as General Music Specialist at Rosemont Elementary School (K–5) and then as Choral Director at Troup County Comprehensive High School.

In 2002, Stacey partnered with the Lafayette Society for Performing Arts to become Conductor and Artistic Director of the Young Singers of West Georgia. Under her leadership, the ensemble has flourished, offering hundreds of young vocalists exceptional training and meaningful opportunities to perform locally, nationally, and internationally. The Young Singers have shared the stage at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., the Navy Chapel in Annapolis, Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago, the Santa Monica Pier, Craigavon Civic Center in Northern Ireland, and historic churches throughout Austria and Hungary, among others.

Through their semi-annual concerts and countless community appearances, the Young Singers have become treasured cultural ambassadors of West Georgia. Stacey’s students consistently earn recognition as school chorus leaders, all-state chorus members, featured soloists, and recipients of music scholarships.

Beyond her work with Young Singers, Stacey has also served since 1991 as Music and Creative Arts Director at Rosemont Baptist Church, where she oversees all musical components of worship, mentoring young as well as seasoned musicians, and leads a wide array of special projects, from seasonal productions to multimedia presentations—most notably being one of the creators of the recent production of The One.

Serving as a clinician, adjudicator, arranger, and mentor, she continues to shape musicians under her tutelage with passion, purpose, and excellence.
