• MISSION STATEMENT

Marty Davis influenced countless lives through her relentless pursuit of excellence as a music educator and as a quintessential lifelong learner. Her curiosity and unique spirit continued through her final days before her untimely passing from the COVID-19 virus. SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to rising third-year college music students (with preference being given to vocal performance and choral music education majors) through an application process. In addition, the scholarship fund will support selected school-age applicants in the LaGrange area who would benefit from furthering their musicianship through participation in the Young Singers of West Georgia.

      MEMORIAL CONCERT

One of Marty’s wishes in her last will and testament was that, in lieu of a funeral, a community concert be held featuring her current and former students. The Scholarship Committee agreed that a memorial concert would be a fitting event to honor Marty’s memory as well as to begin revenue generation for this meaningful music scholarship fund.

The Marty Davis Memorial Concert will be held on July 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange. This unique gathering will feature live performances by career musicians across the nation, spanning three decades of Marty’s private coaching and influential instruction in LaGrange. In addition, choral students, representing her many years as instructor at LaGrange High School and Young Singers of West Georgia, will perform collectively in honor of their mentor and friend.

Your attendance at the concert as well as your personal donation will play a vital role in establishing the Marty Davis Memorial Music Scholarship. All donations are tax-deductible and will be channeled through the Lafayette Society for Performing Arts for this inaugural event.

Cash and checks are also acceptable and may be hand-delivered to the address below Monday through Thursday between 10am-4pm or may be mailed made payable to:
