The Young Singers of West Georgia have been ringing in the holiday season with an annual Christmas concert for the past 24 years, and this year is no different. The show theme, Christmas Memories, is in its 12th year of production and is an event that encompasses music from many genres and time periods, affording the audience an eclectic musical experience. Over one hundred talented singers ranging from ages eight to eighteen will brighten the stage with Christmas classics, both old and new, ranging from Mozart's "Gloria" to the 1980's Wham Classic, "Last Christmas," performed in a driving and energetic a cappella style. Other creative arrangements of traditional songs to be performed include “Joy to the World,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” “Carol of the Bells,” as well as the ever-so popular choral arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon for young voices. On the lighter side of the show, the audience can enjoy Brian Setzer's swing hit, "Dig That Crazy Santa Claus," the Christmas classic made famous by Michael Jackson, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and many more.
Christmas Memories will take place at LaGrange High School on North Greenwood Street in LaGrange on Friday, December 13th at 7pm and Saturday, December 14th at 3pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. The YSWG concert is sponsored by Kemp’s Dalton West Flooring. For more information and ticketing please visit lsparts.org or call 706-882-9909.
