Classes are canceled on March 2nd or 3rd. (Information on our make-up day follows)
On March 3rd, the LTA high school class will be accompanying a winning one-act to the SETC (Southeastern Regional Theatre Conference). This is a great opportunity to see the competitive options for LTC and the Academy in coming years. We will also be taking advantage of many workshops and educational programs offered at the conference. We are excited for this and many other upcoming opportunities planned for the students of the Lafayette Theatre Academy.
On Saturday, March 12th, students will meet for an Academy-wide special theatrical workshop. We will also be taking headshots to ready you for any upcoming auditions. The workshop will start at 10:00am and continue until12:00pm, followed by lunch. That afternoon, the Lafayette Ballet Company has a matinee of Sleeping Beauty at Troup High School. The show starts at 2pm and academy students have been offered a special ticket price for this performance ($7 students and $12 for accompanying family members). If you would like to attend the matinee with us, please let me know how many tickets you would like to purchase and if you need assistance with transportation to the high school. It is going to be a great day!
ATTN: Middle and High School Classes
We have been asked to perform for the members of the Breman Museum in Atlanta on May 19th at 1pm. We are limited on the number of students that can accompany us and each participant will have to be out of school that day. If you are interested in this event, please let me know as soon as possible. We will be using a shortened version of I Never Saw Another Butterfly and there will be a significant change in role/line assignments.
DD Photography has provided a gallery for LTA of photographs from the production of I Never Saw Another Butterfly. You can access the gallery and make any desired purchases at the following link.
The video of the production is still available online. Please let me know if you would like the link and password for access.

Don't forget to check the Azalea Story Telling Festival (March 4-6), and LBC's Sleeping Beauty (March 11-13). We are also adding information about our summer programs with new options you won't want to miss!
As always, thank you so much for supporting theatre arts and all of the exciting things happening at LSPA! -Amy
