Austin Tidwell
LTC Director & LTA Professional Instructor; 706.882.9909

Austin Tidwell graduated from LaGrange College in 2002 with a degree in Theatre Arts. He then worked briefly in Atlanta, appearing in Cherry Docs with Theatrical Outfit and Moonhowler Chronicles with Dad’s Garage before moving to New York. Austin spent nine years in the city during which he focused on the backstage side of theatre. He worked as a carpenter, rigger, electrician, technical director, deck crew chief, and production manager for countless off-Broadway houses and scene shops. Austin is probably most proud of the work he did for the Atlantic Theatre Company while in New York, serving as head carpenter and deck crew chief for the American premiere of The Lieutenant of Innishmore by Martin McDonaugh and the world premiere of Spring Awakening.

In 2012 Austin moved to Los Angeles and resumed acting, appearing in over a dozen shorts and student films before returning to Georgia in late 2015. He now works as a film technician in the Atlanta area, directs and teaches for LSPA, and watches his children pretend to be dinosaurs.
